THE NEW "LOSER CRUISER"

I think The Tool Fool should consider this as a replacment for the Roadbastard. It's stylish and functional. Heck....it's got everything but woodgrain.

I've come up with a few suggestions for transportation alternatives for some other folks as well. First off, What is a top shelf pimp without a top shelf ride?? For DaSug I suggest this. And for his "top earner" Candy, this touch of class. This ride suits MABEEEEEYATCH!!!! perfectly. As posted before this baby for Mitchman. I could not find a nice Rolls Royce for The Baron, so he and Coooooooop can fight over this beauty. Finally, for Ronsta, this and this for Mountaingoat. I'll make all-y'all look good.

FRICKIN' KENTUCKY IN TOSA

Early spring always has a way of making my yard look like it's in a trailer park. Add in a half dozen (started but not finished) projects and I should have my hands full for most of the summer. I, however do have my priorities straight and that means I just need to get enough done to have some cool summer parties. Yes..Ride Tosa trails, and then a beer in Bubba's Backyard Bistro. Sounds good....BUT NOT LOOKING LIKE THIS!!!I better get my head out of my a$$ and get after it. I'll post pics of my progress.

I've been doing a pretty good job of dodging the Wednesday night sushifest, but I'm runnin' out of excuses.

STUFF
Geeez....This blog is bad enough when I'm updating it. Letting it get stale really makes it look shitty.
The Parkside race on Sunday was a blast. I managed to put the pre-race advice from The Tool and Danny into motion and stay in the top 1/3 of the pack for the most part I think. Some of the riders were pretty squirrely again like last week. This week I searched out one of the few guys that were riding well, and stuck to him for a good portion of the race. On the bell lap I heard Russell advise me to "sit up"as we did not cover any sprint pointers and scraping my big ass off the pavement may have been more work than he was up for at the time. I figured the advice was good up till this point, so sit up I did. I don't know where in the pack I finished, but I hung in pretty good.
I need to spend the time between now and the start of WORS riding as much as possible and working on hills. Climbing will be my biggest achillies heel this year for sure.

That's it.......I'm done.

Oh wait....Another blog teased Ronsta about strippers for his b-day. This blog delivers(well..sort of..).....Happy birthday way too late. Jay should certainly approve this little cutie.

PARKSIDE...FIRST ROAD RACE IN THE BOOKS

I finished towards the back 1/3 in the 4-5 race, but in the pack and in one piece. That's good....
The day started with some great pointers from some of the guys that normally drag my sorry ass around on road rides. Danny,Coop, Rick, Lenny, and Jerry all gave me good advice and I tried to put it to use. Even TheTool told me to "break a leg", but I think he meant litterally. At the start line Coop said "This aint like the group you're used to riding with...There's gonna be some really squirely f%&kers out here". Coop was right...As I've said before, I am fairly new to road riding and am learning more every time I saddle up, but I witnessed some stuff today that I've never seen before including a nice "pile-up" about 15 yards in front of me. I think if I would have been prepared for the increased pace on the last lap, I may have even done a bit better......Who knows?? I never thought it would be that much fun. I think I'll giver another go next Sunday.

SATURDAY IS MY CHOICE

Not the best day on the bike today, but not the worst one either. I guess we rode 50-sumthin' miles or so total. I have a fancy new computer to tell me that stuff, but it's mounted on the bike that's sitting in my basement-not the one I was riding. I got smoked pretty good on the hills(big surprise), and got a flat. BIG thanks to Danny and Rick for the help and good pointers. Thanks to COOOOOOOOOP also for yelling at me for doin' stupid shit. I took that as pointers too. And thanks to Glen and Rick for helping with the flat.

If that wasn't enough fun for 1 day, Meg took the opportunity to further humiliate by kickin' what was left of my ass all over the parkway on a couple mile run.

Do you think the Casa was done with Bubba's Assa??...Nope. This clown was nipping at my noodle legs the minute I got home from #2 ass-kickin' of the day. So, off we went for a walk. He took it easy on me...HE-DA-MAN.

I should sleep pretty good tonight, and try to make it down to Kenosha to watch some of the races Sunday.

KEITH'S BEEN DOIN' SOME THINKIN'

O.K... So I have been riding pretty consistantly this winter, and have not put on my usual winter coat (10 lbs) this year. I feel like I am in better shape now than last year at this time, but what now?? I can't help but think the next 6 weeks or so could pay dividends come summer. I know I need alot of work on the hills, but would going on MG's ride Saturday and getting dropped like a hit of acid at a Pink Floyd concert really be the best thing for me? Or would I be better served doing a ride that I at least have a chance of staying in? I plan to start ramping up my riding (I'm not yet ready to incorporate the word "training" into my vocabulary) on the road for a while as the trails will be shitty for the forseeable future.
I guess I'm wondering if I should be doing long rides to log a bunch of miles or trying to hang as long as possible on some rides I have no business being in?
I'm going to try one of those Parkside races....I have no business doing that.

I know some of you guys put together a schedule of races you plan to do before the season. I have been looking at that as well and thinking about which ones I will do if I have the opportunity. I know I can't stick to a firm schedule because of my family obligations. Something will always come up last minute to throw a wrench into my plans.
That said, I had a blast at Chequamegon last year and will do that again if I get in. If I don't get in and must rely on my writing skills to get an invite, I think it is safe to say I will be doing one of my many yard projects that weekend. I want to get on a team for 24-9, and some folks are encouraging me to give Ore to Shore a try. I also want to give WEMS a whirl this year. The Blue mounds, Crystal Ridge, and John Muir races are kinda on the radar. That and 9-10 WORS races should be enough to keep me busy....We'll see.
That's it.....Keith's done enough thinkin'....out.

NERD ALERT!!!!
I see this dweeb every so often in the parkway in front of "La Casa" or when I'm riding, workin' on the trails or walkin' the Jack-Hammer. Now we cyclists all take a little shit about being geeks in tights and so on, but is this guy not begging to be ridiculed?? I mean "What the hell is he expecting to find?? Gold bricks?, valuable coins? He puts in 4-5 hours of work and at days end uncovers 38 cents, 2 bottle caps, and a chainring bolt from DaSug's old singlespeed.

Then he quickly takes some digital photos of his crap, runs home and posts them on his little website so all of his other little metal-detector buddies can see and compare their days treasure hunt. They share info. about location, weather, surface conditions, who (if anyone) was with them, etc.......WHAT A BUNCH OF LOSERS!!

SHE'S A BEAUTY

Even I could look cool ridin this baby. Not as cool as this guy or this guy, but cool never-the-less. Maybe Mr Bigg could get a little of this action workin' on a 29er frame.

FISH???

One of these days I'm gonna grow a set of mid-section marbles and go git some with The Tool Fool and Tosa-Crossdresser.
